Description
Our Advanced Photography Workshop is the perfect follow on from the Intermediate Workshop. It has been designed for students who have a good knowledge of taking photographs in the manual settings but are now interested in "making" rather than "taking" a photograph. Our experienced and talented tutors will unlock your potential, giving you the tools to create original and exciting photographs.
The day incorporates theory with practical examples, impromptu tasks and demonstrations as we go to a number of locations around the Viaduct and City areas of Auckland.

The morning session is dedicated to Architectural and Environmental style Photography. There is a great emphasis on the elements of composition, balancing light and dark, finding colour as well as what lenses to use to get the shots you are looking for. Working with our tutors you will discover how to make the ordinary quite extraordinary. We want you to leave with images from your Advanced photography experience that will amaze you. To discover how the slightest adjustments can make a picture worthy of wall space will make you smile especially when you realise it's so easy.

The afternoon session takes us to the park where we will be looking at Portraiture. This is a practical session ideal for those of you looking to use flash outside and light individuals or groups effectively. We will show you how to work with natural light, when to use flash and how to combine the two effectively. Using the TLW triggering devices and reflectors our tutors will show you how to perfectly light your subject and take great portraits outside regardless of the weather and lighting conditions. During this time you will be encouraged to make decisions on the composition, develop an understanding of white balance and appropriate use of filters too.

Our workshops also have the luxury of several Canon cameras and lenses for you to borrow, so if you are looking to "Try before you Buy"  upgrading your equipment or just wish to see what another lens could do for your photography this is the perfect opportunity.

The group size is a maximum of 6 students with 1 tutor

During this time we cover

  1. Advanced Composition
  2. Flash  - Speedlite, triggering devices and off camera flash
  3. Accessories - Reflectors, diffusers etc
  4. Lenses - What lenses to use
  5. Camera settings and commands- Custom settings and picture styles
  6. Camera information- Sensor sizes, general care and maintenance of equipment etc
  7. Advanced Focusing Techniques
  8. Exposure - Exposure bracketing
  9. Use of a Light Meter
  10. White balance
  11. Histograms

What is Clickapix
Clickapix is a basic guide for photographers who have a DSLR camera or Compact Digital with manual settings. It has been designed for easy access to technical information when you are out and about.
It will recommend the ISO, the Aperture and the shutter speeds that would be suitable for the subject you are taking.

Who is it for
Created for anyone who would like a reminder about optimum camera settings at the click of a button
One of the most common questions we are asked by our students is
"What setting do I put my camera on to take a picture like that?"

How does it work
Choose the type of picture you are want to take.
Scroll through the different styles of photograph:
Portraiture, Scenery, Sports, Nature, Night and Flash
Choose the examples that match your requirements. Clickapix then gives you a range of settings based on the lens, the lighting conditions and what it is you are wanting to photograph

Quick and Easy
Remember it is only a guide, there are very many variables but it will get you on the right track. Photography is about capturing moments in time creatively, making images that make people smile. However technical expertise is needed too and this might just solve your problems

So how do I purchase
If you have an iPhone or iPad just go to the iPhone App Store BUY NOW

We hope this simple guide helps you capture amazing images
