Description
This workshop is designed will teach you how to use off camera flash units and studio lighting. This is an ideal workshop if you find taking pictures using a flash difficult and want to get much better results. It assumes a basic level of proficiency in digital camera handling and technique and ideally you should have completed our Beginners and Intermediate workshops (although not essential)

Working in the studio with our tutors you will learn everything you need to know about flash either on camera, portable or as a studio unit. You will be taught how to manually control the flash, not the automated settings giving you an automated result.

We have a large range of up to date lighting equipment which you can use and experiment with under the expert guidance of our tutors, the equipment can even be purchased through our friends at the Photogear store

The morning session looks deeply into portraiture and how to light and create magazine style imagery.  This is a very useful workshop if you are looking to work professionally in the field of Wedding and Portraiture. We look at natural poses and movement and there is plenty of time for you to work with and instruct our model.
The afternoon session looks at product photography - how to create texture and light objects successfully from glass through to ceramics and soft toys. We welcome any products you wish to bring just arrange with us prior to workshop.

We then look at how to use high speed flash and create amazing visual affects particularly with water! Working as a team it gives you a glimpse into the world of professional shoots and how long one simple picture can take to achieve

The groups are small no more than 10 students with two tutors.

• How to use Ring Flashes and Beauty Dishes
• Choice of equipment and lenses
• How to create a mini studio in your home
• How to position your model

• Information about what to buy if you are setting up a studio
