Description
Join us for an unforgettable day at Auckland Zoo, designed especially for animal enthusiasts and creative photographers alike. Spend the day learning how to capture beautiful wildlife photographs — from majestic lions to playful meerkats — all while surrounded by nature and like-minded photography lovers.
Working in small groups with experienced tutors, you’ll learn how to adapt quickly, adjust your camera settings, and capture those magical moments when an animal suddenly comes to life in front of your lens.
This workshop is hands-on, relaxed and interactive, giving you plenty of time to ask questions and receive personal guidance throughout the day.
Whether you’re preparing for a safari of a lifetime or simply want to take amazing photos of your beloved pooch, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to build confidence, sharpen your skills, and get expert, hands on advice.
Level- Beginner to Intermediate or anyone wanting to improve their creativity.
What you’ll learn:
- Ideal camera settings for animal photography- a quick refresher on best camera modes
- How to adapt to changing light and movement
- Tips on lenses
- Depth of field, blurred background and how to isolate subjects
- Composition rules and ideas
- Auckland Zoo offers endless opportunities to perfect your craft, meet new friends (both human and animal!), and enjoy a creative, inspiring day behind the lens.
How the day works
Wildlife photography is wonderfully unpredictable- every animal, enclosure and lighting situation is different. For this reason the workshop combines short guidance sessions with plenty of hands on shooting time, allowing you to practise techniques while our tutors move through the group offering advice and answering questions. Groups remain small so everyone receives individual attention and support.
