Pet Portrait Session

We do most of our work on location whether that means at home or at a park. It really is dependent on where you think your pet will feel most at home and relaxed. Occasionally owners and pets come to the studio but we would recommend this for pets that can be hand held.

How we get the perfect picture
  • Value their character, if your cat is a lazy lovable animal who sleeps a lot then lets catch him yawning, if your dog is playful lets capture him doing his favorite trick.
  • The lighting is crucial. The light at the beginning or end of the day will bring out the colours of your pets coat. If on the other hand you are looking for cozy indoors shots then natural lighting from a large window is ideal.
  • Schedule a time when your pet is sleepy or has just woken up on the other hand if you want a dynamic shot then pick a time when your pet is energetic.
  • Make sure you have their favorite toys or some delicious treats.
  • Think about how you would like the picture to be, we favour getting down to their level so that we can see right into their eyes.
  • Remember its all about keeping your pet comfortable (they can find cameras distracting) so make sure you are around to distract them whilst we find that perfect shot that shows their true personality and expressions.
